Amanda has over 17 years experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist working with a vast array of different populations. Amanda graduated from Chapman University in Orange County, California. She chose their prestigious Marriage Family Therapy Program because of their outstanding Community Clinic that is on site of the campus in Orange, California. She received her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Certificate in Marriage Family Therapy. She specializes in Family Systems and she is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Personality Disorder’s, Drug and Alcohol Addiction, Relapse Prevention, Domestic Violence, and Parenting Issues. Amanda actually started working as a Trainee Counselor in her undergraduate program where she graduated with a bachelors degree in Psychology and an emphasis in Counseling Psychology. She worked for a year in Alcohol Outpatient Services for Orange County Alcohol Services in Fullerton, California.
As an intern, Amanda first started out working for two years for College Hospital Psychiatric Outpatient Hospitalization Services with severe chronic mental illness. She continued working with a psychiatric population for a psychiatrist’s office for three years in Santa Ana, California. Her clients had severe depression, anxiety, PTSD and severe chronic pain. She is adept at evaluating when is the best time to hospitalize for severe mental health issues and also being able to help a client with severe mental health issues integrate into a life of more meaning and stability. Amanda also coaches family members who are dealing with a family member with severe mental illness.
In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, Amanda Booth Bice is also an Expert Witness in Domestic Violence Cases in Family Court and Criminal Court.
Amanda is an interactive therapist who is known for her compassion and empathy while being able to gently confront truth in order provide support and feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges.
